Yes you can climb it. It recommends doing it between may and september as its a bit too dangerous at other times. Being end of september we used this as good grounds for not making the climb!! One guy we spoke to set off at 2am to climb it. Thats standard unless you plan to stay in a hut at one of the mid stations. A lot of people do that to see sunrise from the top. But as you can see, we would have seen very little from a third of the way up.
